Professional Communicator, Listener and Conversationalist
My 15 years of experience includes a broad range of expertise in communications and marketing; encompassing public relations (traditional and social media relations), e-marketing, SEO strategy, sales support, event management and writing/editing (including social SEO media tools such as key word-rich online blogs, articles, newsletters and news releases). I've worked on various accounts including: several high tech/start-ups, e-commerce and retail, home improvement consumer goods, health care, and independent film promotion.  I've also worked as an internal corporate PR and social media advocate for several organizations.  I have writing samples and professional references that can attest to my quality work, which includes both in-house and account/agency marketing.

More recently I’ve switched gears, as many PR and marketing folks, to the social media and interactive marketing side of communications.  Developing conversations with the customer, engaging and listening to their needs is vital in this newer genre of marketing.  After heading the public relations department at Brand Labs, a full service e-commerce agency in the Detroit area, I had the opportunity to manage all traditional and social media relations accounts for OuterJoin, a Silicon Valley-based integrated multichannel online marketing agency.  I most recently co-founded, Midwest Social Media Group, a digital communications and social media consultancy and currently contract as a social engagement & messaging strategist at Hanson Inc.

A blogger and published editor (LilaGuide Detroit), I continuously look to expand my marketing writing knowledge…which changes and evolves minute by minute.

In my non Web world, you will often find me running (sometimes sprinting) after Ava, my amazing, vivacious 5-year-old who tests my patience every day and makes me a better person because of it. Wish I could cook well because I love to eat.  Wish I could play music but settle for listening to it all the time.  Wish I could go to Europe every summer because I love going there…no need for explanation on the “why I cant’s”.  Is my glass always half empty? Nah, I just strive for a fuller one every day...particularly a nice Pinot Grigio.
